Update May 29 2012:
Maggie is at the vet today for her follow up appt. She
had slight molar spurs trimmed & her toe nail semi
removed. Xrays to both feet showed significant arthritic
changes, but thankfully no osteomylitis. The vet is
hoping the toe will be better now. She will be on pain
meds to relieve the arthritic pain. Toe bandage off in
5-7 days
Update May 2012:
Little Maggie's ear infection has cleared up thankfully, however her
toe infection is not doing so well and it looks as
though she is going to need the nail/? toe amputated if
there is no improvement by her next vet visit. She is
also going to need points removed from her
molars. Despite all that little Maggie is going through,
she remains as sweet as ever & showing a true fighting
spirit. We would like to again thank everyone for their
continued support & healing wishes for Maggie. We look
forward to the day she is free of any medical issues.
Update April 2012:
Poor little Maggie is now battling an
inner ear infection & another toe infection. She is
under veterinary care plus getting plenty of TLC from
her foster mom. We are hopeful that we can rid her of
this infection that has been causing Maggie several
issues. Your continued caring & support is vital in
helping Maggie. We at 3 Bunnies & Maggie are grateful
for all the support.
Maggie is a Dwarf mix that had been living in an outdoor
hutch. When she came to us she had wounds on her feet &
when we noticed some "whistling" breathing sounds, the vet
indicated that she had an old nasal fracture that had
healed. Due to the higher risk of anethesia with Maggie,
it was decided to not spay her. However as Maggie grew
stronger, her hormones really kicked in and we had no
choice but to spay her. She did have a uterine cancer
tumor and that was removed. Maggie did recover and seemed
to be doing good, then had to be hospitalized for
stasis. She was recovering, but has had a set back and is
again on the stasis protocol. This has been trying for
poor Maggie as she is older at 7+ years of age. Maggie is
so sweet and loving, giving her foster mom kisses and
snuggles. Please consider sponsoring Maggie as she has &
is recieving much needed medical. Your sponsorship will
help little Maggie in her time of need.
