Adopted January 16, 2006 by the Sultan of Swing
Hi, I'm Tess. I'm a brown and white female Dutch bunny. When I was
younger, my family abandoned me outside and left me to survive on my
own. I was so sad and lonely, and I couldn't find anyplace safe to
sleep. Then a very mean animal attacked me and hurt my thigh really
bad. A municipal shelter finally took me in and got me the medical
care I needed, and they gave me a place to sleep and some food. I
thought things were finally looking up, but then I waited and waited,
and no one wanted to adopt me. I was sad and lonely again. Was this
going to be my life forever? Nobody wants me?
I became very withdrawn because I thought humans just didn't like me
at all. Then 3 Bunnies came along and took me in, and some
really nice people started paying attention to me and giving me love.
It's taking me some time, but I'm becoming less timid and more
trusting around people now, and I'm starting to make friends with some
of the boy bunnies that are here, too.
I'm starting to believe once again that some day someone will adopt me
and give me a happy home with lots of love and good food, and they'll
keep me safe from predators. I'm afraid of predators, and I really
need to know that I'm safe. All I need is a patient and loving home
that understands that I still need some time to trust humans again.
I'm still afraid to be playful, but I really want to be. Playing is
fun. Would you like to play with me? Maybe you have a lonely bunny
who wants some company?
Thanks for reading!
Tess
