Shelters In Crisis!!
Shelters across the country are in crisis right now, overloaded with unwanted rabbits who are in danger of being euthanized. Blame it on Easter "impulse purchases" or simply the amazing reproductive capabilities of rabbits, but once again this year, If you can find room in your home, please consider helping your local shelter or rescue by adopting or fostering a bunny in need - you'll be saving a life. Literally.

Easter And Bunnies Don't Mix

Please Don't Give Pets As Gifts!!
Shelters and rescues are inundated with animals that were given as gifts to people who didn't really want them and don't know how to take care of them. They expect this year to be no different, beginning on the day after Christmas. Please don't give a live animal as a gift - give a stuffed plush toy instead, or consider making a donation to a rescue or shelter in someone's name as a gift. Just please don't give a live animal as a gift - it requires a lifelong commitment to the pet, and too often they get shortchanged. Thanks!!

Buns That Need Sponsors

Donate   Become A Foster Parent   Become A Member

3 Bunnies Rabbit Rescue Inc often takes in rabbits that are in need of medical care, have suffered neglect/abuse, or for whom medical issues are discovered once they are in our care. Providing appropriate medical care/rehab can be costly and sometimes a lengthy recovery period is required, in order to help these wonderful buns get a second chance at finding a loving permanent indoor home.

To sponsor a rabbit needing extra help, you can make a one time donation, or ongoing support. Any donation amount is appreciated.

Think about making a donation for a sponsorship rabbit in memory of a beloved companion that has passed over the Rainbow Bridge or in someone's name as a birthday gift, anniversary gift, or the like. Hey, get your co-workers/place of employment together, to help give a bun a second chance. You can follow the progess of "your bun" and know you were part of saving a life!!!

If you would like to help some of these buns on their road to recovery, please consider sponsoring one of our buns in need, to help defray medical expenses. If interested, contact us at: info@3bunnies.org, or you can go directly to paypal and make a donation using this general sponsorship link.

We would like to let everyone know how grateful 3 Bunnies is for the support many of our rabbits receive. Those who donate or provide sponsorship ensure these rabbits get the help they need.

All the buns send "binkies and kisses" to everyone that helps give them a second chance.

Update February 25, 2008: Robert, being much older than the girls, is sadly, having health issues. Jenna and Glennis are taking good care of Robert, and giving him extra grooming and snuggle sessions.
We will keep everyone updated on Jolly Robert

Jolly Robert, Jenna and Glennis - Oh what a wonderful thing it is!! An adorable trio of bunnies!!

Jolly is a 3yr old med sized dark grey American. Jenna and Glennis are approx 3 month old white New Zealands. These girls will be on the large size, but what gentle rabbits New Zealands are.

Hi!!! We are such a happy, playful, social bunch. Jenna and I (Glennis) love our "guy" Jolly. He grooms us, and gives our BIG ears lot of kisses. Jolly is so nice to cuddle with, or to do "bunny flops" with. (Jolly rolls on his back with his feet sticking up. It is so funny!) Being babies still, we often zoom around, doing flying leaps, binkies, and bunny dances. WHEW! then we collapse in a sound sleep, knowing our Jolly is right next to us, keeping us safe.

We would love a forever home, and the chance to fill you life with happiness and joy.

Thanks for reading!!

What a pair! Another couple that has been with us for a long time. Loni has had a bout with stasis, but quickly recovered. Pluto is showing signs of slowing down as he gets older, and still prefers little contact with people, but he has his Loni, which makes Pluto so happy.

Sponsor Sir Lancelop
A silver white with grey point French Lop mix, approx 8-10lbs and 1.7 yrs old.

We were contacted by a fellow rescuer to Lancelop's situation. He was in need of immediate medical care and a proper living enviorment. He was transported into 3 Bunnies care, and is recieving medical attention. As you can see his eyes have a disharge which has caused his skin to be red/raw and painful. His nail were long and curled with a possible toe or two broken. His teeth also needed tending to. Our vet is giving him the medical care he needs.

Lancelop is such a sweet guy! He gets all "mushy" when you hold him, and it was wonderful to see him do a big long bunny stretch. We expect him to be on the road to recovery, and available for adoption soon.

Thanks for reading!!

Major Tom

This ever so sweet and gentle 7yr old grey with white Dwarf mix (approx 4lbs) has lived a sad life, but despite this he is a LOVE!

Major was surrendered to a local shelter because his people could no longer care for him. He lived his life in a small metal cage, with no toys or hay.

It was clear that something was wrong, as his eyes were watery and he cringed when you touched his cheeks. An emergency vet visit showed his molars had spurs sticking into his cheeks. The spurs were removed and he was placed on antibiotics for his inner cheek wounds. Fluids were given and a full check up done. Also noted were his incisors uneven, but the vet felt this was caused by prolonged chewing at the wire cage (not malocclusions).

Back at his foster home, Major Tom slowly started to eat and gain some weight. He will be going for a follow up dental check, and evaluation for his neuter (his neuter will be more involved than normal)

Hi everyone! Major Tom here. Im having so much fun now. Im eating yummy hay, and I love baby carrots. I get a big kick out of rearranging my blankets, then peeking out from my hidey box. I have very good littrbox habits, and do not mind being held, and look forward to lots of face kisses. What can I say.........I'm just a great little guy!

Thanks for reading!!

Wrigley
Sponsor Wrigley
Please note: we cannot offer Wrigley for adoption yet, as she is recovering from her medical ordeal. We are so thankful that we got a chance to give her a better life, and the possibility of living a better life forever. How anyone could let her get this bad, we don't know. We only know that we care, we helped, and we now control her health and happiness, and you can be assured that we will keep our promise to her.

This poor girl was seen abandoned in a school baseball field for several days. One of our volunteers received the call for help from CT ACO.

Volunteers immediately went to the baseball field, and were able to catch the bun.

She was brought to an emergency vet to care for her ears. As you can see from the pictures, this sweet bun had horrific ear mites. The vet said that this would take months to get to this point. Wrigley was sedated, and her ears were surgically derided.
