Update: 1/12/2012:
Othello has had his second surgery for his side abscess. This
surgery was more involved as the infection reached close to his
spine. He was recovering as expected, but had to spend Christmas
weekend at the emergency vet hospital for stasis. He has since had
his staples removed and is on the road to recovery.
Othello sends "nose boinks" in thanks to everyone for their
support & well wishes.
Update: 12/12/2011:
Recently we noticed a small lump on Othello's side. A vet
appointment was made where it was discovered an abscess had
been developing under the skin. Othello had surgery to remove
the abscess. He has been on antibiotics along with cage rest,
but unfortunately it appears the abscess is continuing and is
now very large. Othello will be back at the vets immediately
for further treatment/surgery. Poor Othello, he is being such
a brave bun. Please consider helping Othello get through this
ordeal. You can help sponsor Othello via PayPal or directly to
the veterinary hospital (please contact us via
info@3bunnies.org
for veterinary hospital info), and please visit our
sponsorship
page to help him recover and follow his progress.
This handsome Rex mix is around 3 years old and approx
5lbs. Othello was found as a stray and brought to an ACO
shelter. When examined by the shelter vet, it was thought that he
had sight problems so 3 Bunnies was asked to take him in. Othello
appears to see fine and we have not noticed any problems.
Hello, I am Othello. I really enjoy attention and body rubs. Ear
rubs are nice also. I have fun hopping around and playing,
especially with cardboard boxes. I also like rearranging my
blanket...scrunching it this way, then that way...straighten it
out, and I will do it all over again. I do not mind being held,
but really prefer you get on my level or I sit next to you getting
rubs. I would love to find my forever home.
