Update: Andy has adjusted to loosing his mate Neely, and has shown a playful
side. He is so silly when he gets in his haybox, and covers himself
with hay, only to peek out at you (you could swear he is
laughing). Andy is a calm, gentle guy, and enjoys body rubs or just
"chilling out". He may like a new bun friend, if the right one came
along. This sweet boy is just waiting for a forever home.
August 2, 2008:
It is with deep sadness that we report Neely passed away during the
day today - she was fine last night, but suddenly left for the Bridge
today. Her mate Andy seems comfused and lost without her.
Neely and Andy
This shy but sweet pair came from a situation in which they were
living in a fenced yard. Abandoned and being fed by neighbors. There
were three, but one day it was discovered that one was missing, and
fur was found all over. The two remaining rabbits were taken, Andy and
Neely.
They received vet care, then were placed at the Berkshire Humane
Society, hoping to find a home. There they received lots of TLC, but
alas, no adoptive home. Now in 3 Bunnies, they have been getting
plenty of love, but Andy has had bouts with stasis. X-rays showed no
blockage, and Andy recovered, but has had a couple more incidents of
stasis since.
These two are so bonded, and are a "sensitive" pair. They can be silly
and goofy, but Neely can become scared easily to new things. They have
very good litterbox habits, and when they snuggle and groom each, you
can see how much they love each other.
Neely is a 5-6lb white and black spotted Satin and Andy is a 6lb brown
Agouti. Both are adults, probably around 4yrs old
Thanks for reading!!
Andy
