This gentle, sweet girl, once had a home. Her people had Miracle and
another rabbit, and decided to let them run in their backyard. Slowly
forgotten and neglected, Miracle ended up loose in the neighborhood
(the other rabbit was no longer seen, and presumed dead). She had
survived almost a year, and at one point in the summer had a litter (a
new stray rabbit has been spotted), with no babies surviving. Finally
able to be caught in the neighborhood, she made her way to 3 Bunnies.
Miracle came to us skin and bones, but with a horrible bloated
stomach. Weak, filthy and having difficulty hopping, she spent 2 days
in the hospital. At the vets, xrays were taken, bloodwork done, fluids
given and she received B12 and iron injections. Very anemic, she is
recieving supplements, and treated for worms.
Things looked bleak at first, as anything she ate caused horrible gas,
bloating and diarrhea, but as all the treatment started to work, she
can now eat small frequent meals, and is eating hay. Her bloat has
gone way down, and her diarrhea is gone. She is now hopping around
more, but gets tired very easily. She has a long way to go, but each
day gets a little stronger.
Miracle has a strong will to live, and despite how people had
discarded her, she loves attention, and will give kisses.
Thanks for reading!!
