Shelters In Crisis!!
|
Shelters across the country are in crisis right now, overloaded with unwanted rabbits
who are in danger of being euthanized. Blame it on Easter "impulse purchases" or
simply the amazing reproductive capabilities of rabbits, but once again this year,
If you can find room in your home, please consider helping your local shelter or rescue by
adopting or fostering a bunny in need - you'll be saving a life. Literally.

Easter And Bunnies Don't Mix
|
Please Don't Give Pets As Gifts!!
|
Shelters and rescues are inundated with animals that were given as
gifts to people who didn't really want them and don't know how to take
care of them. They expect this year to be no different, beginning on
the day after Christmas. Please don't give a live animal as a gift -
give a stuffed plush toy instead, or consider making a donation to a
rescue or shelter in someone's name as a gift. Just please don't give
a live animal as a gift - it requires a lifelong commitment to the
pet, and too often they get shortchanged. Thanks!!

~~~ A little dollar can do a lot of good ~~~
If you enjoyed seeing our adorable bunnies or got some helpful
information from our site, please consider
clicking the dollar
above to donate a dollar. You might not think a dollar is a lot of money, but if
everyone donates a dollar, we can help many more bunnies like
Wrigley and Sir Lancelop
from the horror they were forced to endure.
Thank You!!
Noffy Says Thank You!!
Hi all - I'm Noffy, the Rex in front.
I just wanted to thank you all for supporting 3 bunnies and how much
it's helping other bunnies like me. They literally saved my life!!
Six months at the pet store - no one even looked at me. Then I'm left
in the basement of an empty house with two other bunnies. Then six
months at the shelter, and no one even looked at me. The nice people
at 3 Bunnies camw and took me from the shelter the day before I was
going to be put to sleep. I got adopted and I'm now in a very happy
home!! 3 Bunnies couldn't have done it without your support , so
THANK YOU!! YOU HELPED SAVE MY LIFE!!
Now I have a loving mate, and there are two females from 3 Bunnies who
live here too - and they're twins. They've been together since the
beginning of time in their worlds.
Now that's a bond. Without your help none of
this would have been possible, and Tamari, my mate here, would
be the only one of us that wasn't put to sleep.
Pippin
Click Here To Donate To Pippin
This sweet English Spot/Dwarf mix, white and brown spotted, approx
4-5lbs, was surrendered to a CT ACO shelter, along with her mate
Pugsly (picture pending). Her former person had become very ill, and
could no longer provide for them. they had been at the shelter almost
2 months, before 3 Bunnies became aware of them. Seeing Pippin needed
medical attention, 3 Bunnies immediately offered help (the shelter had
taken the rabbits to a veterinarian).
As you can see, Pippin had a large area under her chin and neck that
is raw and crusted with dried pus. Her front feet had raw areas, and
she would only gingerly put weight on them, often curling them under
her. She was immediately seen by our vet. Her teeth are mostly nubs
(she is an older girl), thus causing her to drool. Pippin was cleaned
up, and put on antibiotics, a special skin cream, and pain meds. Two
days into treatment, Pippin was eating hay, pellets and chopped up
greens. Her neck and feet showed improvement.
Pippin just went for a follow up, and is having to have dental work
done for molar spurs. It was also noted that her side and hind leg is
missing fur, and we suspect she is pulling out the fur due to
hormones, so the vet feels she can not wait to be spayed, which is
also being done. Pippin is such a sweet girl, and her mate, Pugsly,
takes such wonderful care of her. She has a bit of a long road ahead
of her in rehab, but with plenty of TLC and proper vet care, we are
optimistic that Pippin's future looks bright!!
Please consider helping Pippin by making a sponsorship donation. Any
amount, whether large or small, will make a world of difference to
Pippin.
Special thanks to the following people for helping sponsor Pippin's special needs:
- Linda J.
- the St.Louis County Neighborhood Preservation Program, in memory of Gwendolyn Phippen, a true rabbit lover.
- C. Jayne Phippen-Hunt, in loving memory of Gwendolyn Phippen!!
3 Bunnies In Pets Press Newspaper
| |
3 Bunnies Rabbit Rescue has been in
Pets Press
monthly newspaper. We
list an adoptable rabbit/s and put in an ad. We are sometimes
featured in other areas of the paper and are often asked rabbit
questions of the paper when they are writing articles. Susan Curtiss
answers the bunny expert questions in the paper. To find out where to
get this free newspaper, go to
www.petspress.net.
You can also subscribe to the paper and get it delivered in the mail. It is a
great pet resource paper and some of our local, fellow rescues are
also in it.
